winboard and winxp

Postby mridul » 13 Sep 2006, 18:04

Hi,

In case this has been answered or is the wrong place to ask , my apologies.

Trying to install winboard in win xp 64 , and the installer keeps failing.
This is happening for the downloads from Tim Mann's site and from the xboard savanna site.
Any help , pointers or suggestions welcome.

RTFM's welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Mridul

My my , forgot to mention the error.

The console dump is :

Did you try Winboard_X too(no installer needed)? This is what most
people use nowadays. AFAIK Olivier and Leo use it with WINXP 64.

My solution was simple and stupid.
Dual boot to win2k and install from there.

Looks like some compatibility issue with winxp64 ...

Thanks
