Old WB forum archive link

Postby Guenther Simon » 20 Jan 2007, 14:24

I don't remember if Volker once has posted the link
to the old archives in the net, but here it is.
It seems all messages down to day one are there!

I didn't. I even didn't believe archive.org is working so good! Everything seems to be there really. Really very good!

Thanks

Thanks a lot. It's like walking back in time. This is what I'm looking for. I hope this "paradise" stays for a long time.

I cant seem to get back to links older than 2004, like the 2003 links.

Any help appreciated

I can try to set up the complete old forum this weekend on my site. It will then be online again as it was but without the possibility to post in. Any interest in such a solution?

definitely would be interested. I posted a number of times on the old forum and my memory is hazy on the dialouge that was going on back then so it be nice to be able to take a trip through memory lane.

No problem. Parsimony is going to stop their services and the script I have only allows to read. I hope the search will work but I'm not sure.

worst comes worst i can always scroll through page by page. thats the key thing that would need to be there. the ablity to go beyond the first page displayed. search is nice but browsing will work.

It is still not completed but at least I have something. Please take a look here:

http://www.vpittlik.org/forum16635/

At the moment I see a lot of bugs, wrong links and so on.

Until it is as I like it to be it can take some days I guess.

hi,

search is working i see. Links do seem to be broken. I'm patient. It would be fun to explore the old winboard forum. A lot of engines had their release announced their. I know i anncounced teh release of pulsar, 5 years after i started it, there.

It seems to a very bad hack. The search is running at Parsimony. The files are not there anymore. The archive does not work at all. And to make it worse there seems to be some limitations with the number of files. I'll try it a little bit more.

I'm going to try abit more during the upcoming holidays. The software is free, but this is the one with the by far worst documentation I have ever seen.
