Human vs. Human Play

I'd like to use Winboard to play Human vs. Human on the same computer. My friend and I aren't ever logged in at the same time, so we send a postcard with our move. I need to be able to play my move, save the game, play his move, save the game, etc. Am I missing an obvious setting to tell the computer to bugger off?

I haven't tried this yet, but it seems if you start WB just in
'view or edit game files' mode and add the moves and save them
e.g. as 'postal.pgn' it should work for your task.

If you search for email chess in google you will find software that probably suites you better than winboard.
I am not sure what your problem is but you can save and load games and/or positions under the File menu.
You can avoid cehss engines by open Winboard in view and edit mode
