pulsar release

Postby MikeSeatle » 15 Jun 2007, 21:52

hi,

My chess program pulsar has been released. this is the first release that supports all wilds in one program. It plays regular chess, atomic, suicide/giveaway, 3checks, twokings, losers, and crazyhouse. also shuffle board wilds but not fischer rand yet. It can be handicapped at any of these wilds to do a reduced fixed depth search. Its evaluate is also modifiable.

link is http://www.adam16mr.org/pular.html There are both a windows executable and 32 and 64 bit linux executables.

this version of pulsar will now claim a draw by the 50 move rule and 3 rep. I believe a bug that was causing it to sometimes hang in frizt has been fixed. The new version has not been tested in fics.

I did some testing in zhouse challenger and it seems to work there for crazyhouse. Also if you play in winboard, crazyhouse, and try an illegal plop, pulsar will send the user a message saying what the players and pulsars plops are sine winboard doesnt display them.

Show thinking now works in some variants of pulsar such as atomic and regular chess i believe. It has not been fully tested yet.

Yours
Mike Adams
