40H update (2007.09.27)

I have updated the 40H collection of pgn utility programs. There are two major changes plus a few minor ones.

The 2 major changes are:

Addition of the program "eventExtract". This program extracts games based upon the content of the Event tag. The user can specify to match either an entire tag content, or just a token in the tag.

The other major change is to the program "minElo". Now the user has the option of using 2 elo ranges instead of 1. If 1 range is used, both players must have an Elo rating in that range for the game to be extracted. If 2 ranges are used, the game will be extracted if one player's Elo is in one of the ranges and the other player's Elo is in the other range.

As usual, the download link is listed on Jim Ablett's site. Jim also compiled the programs for Windows using Excelsior Jet. By the way, support is included for using these programs in a Java Runtime.

I corrected an error concerning the packaging of the exe files into the rar file. I had incorrectly included one file (splitEco.exe) when I should have included a different file (splitRes.exe). The situation has been corrected. Sorry for any inconvenience.

For me I have a slow machine.I wonder If you could just put SplitRes.exe in a zip or Rar folder by itself. That way we won't have to download the whole package all over again.Just to make it easy for us.I'll apreciate it very much.Thank you also for such great tools!!

Best Regards

Hi Pierre,

You have a very good point. The link for splitRes.exe is listed below.

I am considering putting individual links on my download page for each of the 25 programs, and an additional link for a rar of the 3 ancillary files.

Thanks a lot. It'll definitely help with the downloads by breaking them apart.I apreciate it very much.
