For the last while i have been working with a modified copy of winboardx that supports shatranj, though you have to turn off move legality, which can be bad in home play because users can slip on the move and its legal even if the move is illegal.

One of my beta testers asked me to turn off the f9 key resigining you in ics mode. Those who use blitzin know that f9 is a popular function key to use to reply to the last tell. I myself have accidently resigned games by hitting f9 and have heard the story from others.

I turned off f9 by simply editing 1 or 2 lines of code in the winboard.rc file ( forget exactly ) find: f9 will find occurences of f9 in the resource file. I also like this change, as it makes winboard safer for people used to blitzin.

Would winboard-f consider this change?

Yes, I would. Having a single key-stroke resign does seem a bit dangerous anyway. ctl-alt-F9 would be a better choice.
