Since this new forum doesn't have the tree display of messages, and it not possible for users to choose which replies to read or not read, i think it would be nice for users to be able to filter out users of their choosing.

You can at least filter by the age of the messages.

If you don't want to read a reply just don't do it.
There are a lot of modifications available for phpBB message board. I don't know if such a filter is available. If I become more familiar with the software I possibly search for and install such a thing. But we have to keep in mind that more features make software usually more buggy.

Even if i choose not to read some messages, these unwanted messages still are there, and i have to scroll through all of the messages in a thread. For example, if there are 20 replies to a post, and 1 new reply, i have to scroll through all 21 messages to find the new message, even though i've already read 20 of them. With long messages, well, you can understand the obvious inconvience.

And therefore you can simply click on the little "letter" symbol in the "LastPost" column at the index page. That displays the last message in that topic immediately.

Yes, this will display the last message in that thread. But i don't see any way to determine if there have been more than one new reply in a thread. So i still have to scroll through the complete thread, looking for new replies.

Am i missing something
