There's more private engines in your list than I thought. I added: Anatoli, Brainless, Caligula, CTD, Oxygen, and RBrChess. Did I get them right? Thanks!Olivier Deville wrote:About clones : I receive one or two of them each month. Author names are phony of course, and I think there is no need to list private clones.

I agree!

The links page has been updated. Thanks!
I really should finish adding all the other links. They are listed in plain text, but are not highlighted links. Maybe I will work on that in the next several days.

If I did that I would have very few links! I really don't care about the link-backs. I have no patience for wars over UCI vs Winboard or Arena vs Winboard. If a UCI/Arena guy wants to ignore the site that's okay. As long as the site is helpful to a computer chess beginner, that's all I care about.

If I am not misstaken my RWBC page or at least the chronology pages
about all available WB/UCI engines are not listed in your links page?
edit: I see now that RWBC appears under 'tournaments and ratings',
but only at the horizonchess site and the the link is outdated too.
Moreover I think at least the anthology pages(fka chronology pages)
qualify for the category of general interest. Thre is also a download
section at RWBC which holds downloads for WB engines which are
not available anymore from their authors.

Hi Guenther,
Your site is very helpful and deserves to be listed. I apologize for not listing it in more places. At the moment I am (slowly) adding/editing/removing information to the links page to make it more current. I only have a couple of hours a week to spend on the FAQ site. Sometimes I forget about the site and don't I update it for months at a time. That's why updating is so slow! (I'm still looking for volunteers to help me add content to the site!)
BTW, your Winboard chronology page is mentioned in section [A.4] of the new Winboard FAQ, "What are Winboard engines? How many Winboard engines are there?"
http://computer-chess.org/pmwiki.php?n= ... ardEngines
Also, I had no idea that you had a download page for unavailable engines. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
Rest assured that I will add your site to my links page!
Best regards,
Ron
