Queen 4.03a: GUI improved

Postby Leen Ammeraal » 17 Jun 2011, 18:25

For human users of my chess program Queen, there is now a new version that displays the moves in standard notation, for example, Nf3 instead of g1f3. The moves of the game are now displayed in a window with a vertical scrollbar, so that all moves of a long game can in principle be seen. I also fixed an error that sometimes occurred when the user took moves back. I did not change anything in the engine itself, so this new version plays as strong (or as weak) as the previous one in computer chess tournaments.
I hope I did not spoil the program in other points; it had been a long time since I worked on Queen, so changing the program was not without risks. If you find anything incorrect or otherwise very undesirable in it, please let me know.
Best wishes,

Hello Leen,

It has been a while so I doubt you would remember but it is good to see you posting and working on Queen again.

Proof positive that the computerchess addiction lives on...

All the best with Queen and life.

Later.
