Wired Graphic Problem - Borland Run Time Library ?

Postby Reinhard Scharnagl » 09 Jun 2005, 10:44

Hello all,

I refer on Franz Huber's posting: http://wbforum.volker-pittlik.name/viewtopic.php?t=2754&start=20

Instead of Smirf's intended appearance:

his notebook will show it like that:

It seems not to be correctable by reducing graphic acceleration.

Any ideas for me to handle this problem?

The problem seems to be solved now as an acceleration problem.

Hello,

in the meantime I?ve once more played around with different settings of the Windows graphic acceleration (although I?ve tried this already some years agon without any success), and this time it seems to work - I?ve absolutely no idea, why!? (maybe in my previous attempts I?ve simply overlooked to restart Windows after these changes?).

Now - after reducing this graphic acceleration 2 steps (of 4 possible) - the Smirf-screen looks as it should. :D
I hope that this will be not only a temporary success, because already in the past these display errors didn?t happen everytime - sometimes the graphic was ok, but mostly it was screwed up.

Nevertheless I still would be very interested, what?s the reason for this problem. It seems to happen only in programs created with any of the Borland compilers (I have absolutely no such problems with all other programs or Windows itself), and (what?s even more strange) concerns only a few small screen areas (bitmaps, icons), but not the rest of the screen (although everything is graphics in Windows)!?

So if anyone has a good explanation for this behaviour, it would be kind to enlighten us - maybe there?s any way to solve this problem within Borland programs without having to reduce the graphic acceleration in Windows!?

Best regards,
Franz.

Hi Reinhard !

This must be a driver/hardware problem because all GDI stuff, included with your compiler, comes from Microsoft.

The only thing what you can do is perhaps install the newest core SDK by Microsoft. This is free.
