Lime_v41 (UCI and Winboard)

Postby Richard Allbert » 11 Aug 2005, 19:22

Hi,

With help from the people on this forum (search interrupt!), Lime now understands UCI. :D

Both Winboard and UCI protocols run from the same exe.

In UCI mode, Lime supports analysis, and shows extra search info. Due to complications in my search function, the winboard ouput for Lime has been limited to the main PV.

I have made some small changes to v39 eval, and fixed some silly bugs (there was a horrible castling bug, where Lime didn't detect rook moves for castling permission!).

So, if you want a weak UCI engine, click below :)

A note for the novice programmers (like me). I was always under the impression that implementing the UCI protocol was difficult (because most UCI engines are very strong) - reality showed the opposite. It is much easier than the winboard protocol

Thanks for the help from this forum (and Olivier's chesswar chat).
