My experience is programmming TLCV under the influence of Wine.

I need someone to program a version of TLCV for Linux so that many Linux users can view the games. I have almost finished the protocol document and I can give this to anyone who wants to program a Linux version. All the hard work is done by the server which means the viewer is almost a dumb client. This should make the viewer not too difficult to program, you just have to display stuff.
Cheers,
Tom.

Bruja started well and then went into a tail-spin in rounds 14-19. Exciting tournament Gunther - especially for those of us on the ragged edge.

Hi Tom,
nice to read that. I never did any graphics programming under Linux, so all I could do is a viewer with a simple text display. And I really don't have much time for private programming now because I started with a new job this month.
But I'll see what I can do. Perhaps I can use some code from my engine Hermann to do the chess stuff and maybe someone else can do the graphics.
Please send me the protocol document to hermann (at) nnuss (dot) de when it is ready.
Although I do much with windows, I use it offline only. For internet access I always boot linux.

Thanks Guenther,
have a nice weekend

Why not do it in Java? A Java version would work on Windows, Linux, MacOs and so on. If you give me the protocol details, I could come up with a Java version real soon :)
