New engine released: "Surprise 4.1"!

Hi everybody,
this is my very first posting to the WinBoard forum. I release version 4.1 of my free WinBoard engine "Surprise", which is a completely new engine. Please have a look at the link below to read more about it and to download the engine (Windows only at the moment).
I really do not know much about its real strength. I think it still plays quite poor, but I don't have much time for playing test games against other engines. So I would appreciate your testing activities, I count on you
One question: Does anyone know about the approximated rating of GnuChess5 which is coming together with WinBoard 4.2.7? Surprise-4.1 scores about 2:8 or 3:7 against GnuChess.

Congratulations Sven for this new engine !
GNUChess5 gets a rating around 2300 in my list, so if Surprise scores 2.5/10 against GNUChess5, it would say its playing strenght is about 2100. But scores vs. only one engine are not enough to say much, of course.

Thank you, Olivier. I would expect Surprise-4.1 to get a rating of about 1700-1900, but 2100 would be o.k. for me ...
Is anyone already going to test Surprise-4.1? Do you need more info?

Surprise will enter my tournament in October But I'm sure many people here will run tests and report rating estimations.

Now that it is released, you can expect a lot of tests right away.
Also, expect to find a few problems uncovered.

Greetings from Nicolai! You may have heard from your fellow King-Hunters (Königsjägers?) that I have started playing again after a long absence, or at least I'm coaching my two sons.
What a coincidence that I have also just started writing my own engine, Eden. It's not WB yet but will be soon.
Eden is quite a bit weaker than your engine, but it should give some of the young KJ talents a good run for the money...
I didn't realise that you're also a freelance developer like myself.
But I guess I should be writing you a private email
