Crafty v19.17 SE SSDF
As the name suggests, this the Crafty version sent to the SSDF for testing under Arena in native Winboard format using Crafty native books book learning and position learning.
Improved the analysis feature that will you permit to analyze full strength even though you may using a weakened version of Crafty. My own testing under Arena revealed that this improved analysis function works best after playing a game is to save the game, load the game, restart crafty engine (there is no need to adjust crafty.rc file if you are using commands like sd=3 or random search command like “rsd 2 6 4 8” , crafty will analyze at full strength here.) Previously, you would have to modify the crafty.rc file and then restart crafty to analyze at full strength.
I also fix “book creation” that did not work under previous Crafty SE versions and the “krafty nimzovich” personality now works properly as well.
There are also several other minor bug fixes that should help you enjoy this Crafty SE better.
I would consider the two previous Crafty SE 19.17 and 19.15 SE versions as defective and not use them at all.
Best,
Michael

Does the SE code work? I'm asking because it tells me
Crafty v19.17 SE SSDF [Standard] (1 cpus)
SE code disabled
Is it possible to switch the SE code on with the command "se"?
After I type, e.g.
krafty Knight
it tells me:
usage: search
personality name .................. Standard

Hi Martin
Instead of krafty Knight, try krafty knight. This will work. :-)

Thanks, you're right. Is there a hint anywhere in the documentation?
Hm, the SE code is disabled (at least it says so while starting), but it works...
Also I noticed that I have to turn on the SE code with "SE" in uppercase letters. It is a little bit inconsistent, I think.
The UCI version works also, the UCI dialogue is better than editing configuration files. But I like the Personalities/Levels displayed in the analysis lines of Arena in the Winboard version. Maybe I add this to Arena for UCI also.

I don't know if there is a hint in the documentation, but i use the text file name of the personalities as a guide. And i think they are all in lower case. The SE code is disabled until a personality is selected. "krafty standard" will also turn on the SE code. And i always add the krafty parameter as the first entry in crafty.rc, rather than on the command line.

Curious about what you mean by "Personalities/Levels displayed in the analysis lines of Arena in the Winboard version", i tried a Crafty SE personality in Arena. I didn't see anything different in the analysis lines. Could you explain what you mean? Perhaps a certain Arena setting is required?

Engine Management/Options: "Use internal name": "on".
Thanks for your explanations.
