Sorry, I wrote an incorrect description : WinMan.exe is launch correctly, but i get the bug when I click on Board Design.
Anyway, I still have the 1.2b so it's not quite a problem.

Cheers

I have also the same problem.

Can anyone tell me where to download the version 1.2b? Or send it to my email address pecastro [arroba] msn.com?

One suggestion for Alex would be able to order engines from the list in alphabetical order.
Best wishes,

Pedro Castro

Updated. WinMan 1.2e

http://es.geocities.com/winboard_chess/

Bug fix:
-Problem with BoardDesign in WinXp sp3 (Thanks to Mathieu and philoug by report it and to Pedro Castro by help me).
-Problem with xreuse (Thanks to Pablo Urzua by report it).

Tips:
Clicking Mouse Right button in Engine Manager, it shows a popup window where we may order our engines in WinMan and winboard.ini.

Clicking Mouse Right button in tournaments windows we may copy crosstables choosing Select All and Copy then we may paste it in any text editor.

Regards.

Alex,

I have these issues with Winman1.2e:
1. When I click board 'Board Design', I get this windows fault dialogue:

Code: Select all
Access violation at address 7D625052 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Write of address 00404c4D.

2. Is there a possiblity for a 'back' button to switch from one function to another, rather than close and execute the program again?

3. What's the best resolution to use this. I can't see some menu scripts on 'Engine's Manager' display. 'Maximize' button doesn't work well too.

4. For an add-on. Can you try adding an epd test suite like 'GradualTest' by Odd Gunnar Malin in your GUI?

Though generally it works to what it was designed to do (almost perfectly), these minor problems will make it more user-friendly.

I'm using Win XP Professional x64, but I'll try it out too with Win2K tomorrow and see the difference.

Thanks.

Denis

Ok it is my fault. This bug was in my head.

2. Is there a possiblity for a 'back' button to switch from one function to another, rather than close and execute the program again?

That is difficult, I am sorry but by now no.

3. What's the best resolution to use this. I can't see some menu scripts on 'Engine's Manager' display. 'Maximize' button doesn't work well too.

Might you send a image of your Engine Manager?
Engine Manager, Board Design and Tournaments are fixed windows by now; but RoundRobin and Gauntlet tournaments are resizeable.
I designed it in resolution 800x600.

4. For an add-on. Can you try adding an epd test suite like 'GradualTest' by Odd Gunnar Malin in your GUI?

Interesting idea!. I will study it.

Though generally it works to what it was designed to do (almost perfectly), these minor problems will make it more user-friendly.

Thanks you for your suggestions.

I am sorry it, problem is not SO I resolved it and i will do available WinMan soon.

Alex

Might you send a image of your Engine Manager?

OK. I used 1024 x 768 resolution on my desktop. Here's the pic.

Do you perhaps use enlarged windows fonts(enlarged dpi values)?
Those are known to create such problems sometimes with certain programs.

Gunther,

I've tried switching to normal size Windows fonts but that didn't work. I'll try switching to 96 dpi later as a reboot is required. Thanks.

Gunther,

Switching from 120 dpi - 96 dpi (normal) made it work. I only modified my desktop for other reasons. now i know the difference and consequences of these features.

Thanks pal. that solve the problem!
