Game Analyser

Postby Edmund » 22 Nov 2008, 19:24

Hello, I tried to use Game Analyser by Tom:
http://home.pacific.net.au/~tommyinoz/gameanalyser.html

But what I found is that it can only process games, where the comments are in the form {score/depth}
So I was only able to analyse my games by first manually removing the pv and time from the comments.

Do you know of any programs that can automate that task?

regards
Edmund

Hi Edmund,

I have uploaded my latest version of Game Analyser which should work with Arena style comments. I haven't done a lot of testing so if you find any bugs, then email me the bug and any samples so I can work on fixing it.

Thanks,
Tom.

Thanks for the quick response.

Unfortunately I am now getting the following error message:
"Failed to activate control 'VB.UserControl'. This control may be incompatible with your application. make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application."

Maybe it helps telling you that I am as well using your TLCV .. maybe there are some problems there, trying to access different versions of ocx files with the same name.

It's to do with the ChessBoard.ocx file. I think you may need to copy it to windows/system32 directory and then register it. TLCV and Game Analyser use the same ChessBoard.ocx file, but it has been updated over time, so there are slightly different versions around. If that doesn't work then I'll develop a setup.exe file which should make installing it easier.

Thanks, it's working now.
But indeed it might be better for further versions to create a setup file, as I doubt that everyone is familiar with the process of registering controls.

Anyway, keep up your good work tom, I like your programs.

Thanks Guenther, I just wish I had more time to work on the things that I want for CC. But, I guess things will come out slowly.

Cheers,
Tom.
