Although it's not really a new engine, there is now Sinobyl (Sinobyl Is Not Owned By Latista Technologies LLC.), formerly known as Latista, renamed 2008/11/29.

Tony,
Thanks for letting everyone know about the new name change. I just logged on to make an announcement and see that someone here has already noticed it. That actually is encouraging to see that someone has looked at my page already! Even though I haven't done any new chess development for a while.

Anyway, as you can see from Tony's post, due to a trademark issue with a company named Latista Technologies. I've decided to rename my engine to Sinobyl. It should function identically to Latista 1.5, but only has a new name.

Thanks,
Eric

Thanks for the kind words, Eric. When I have time on my hands, I sometimes go randomly clicking on engine home page links, just to see if there's anything new, and I just happened to stumble upon Sinobyl.

What caught my eye was that the name Sinobyl is only two letters away from Sibyl, which is supposed to be the new engine from Anastasios Milikas, the author of AICE. I wonder how progress is going on that, haven't seen any news from him in a while.
