Hi Matthias,

I'm glad you are satisfied. :) Still, I'm sure you would not object to one minor improvement: when grey and white tabs alternate (anywhere) I would like to have it marked at which tab I am currently. To be more precise, I'd prefer only that tab to be of different colour.

Now that I'm at it, another idea: the actual tab with a different (e.g. blue) colour which turns red if I change somehing.

Hi Gabor,
I can grant the first wish. The second is too complex and expensive.
All this colour stuff is hard for me because I am colour-blind :( .
BTW, I think Hiarcs MP stubbornly refuses to set cores to one under ChessGUI, even if debug shows that correct command is sent.
No other UCI MP engine has been reported with this problem.
If you can set Hiarcs MP cores to one under Shredder GUI and send me the debug, ...

Matthias.

Received and will look into it, thanks.
BTW, checkout menu point "Define ChessGUI colours" in ChessGUI 0.141.
Only exe has changed.
Best,
Matthias.

Thanks a lot, this is what I would have wanted. :D
It has a minor bug though, the second tab colours appear only after clicking on one of the tabs. In fact I think I don't need the alternate colours at all but of course others may have different tastes.

BTW, I noticed that ChessGUI loading takes much more time than before, is it normal or something wrong here? Does not seem to affect anything, though, so no worries.

Cheers,

ChessGUI sends exactly same cores command to Hiarcs MP as Shredder GUI does, so maybe there is no problem.

More ChessGUI colours :

ChessGUI wastes time at startup and tournament launch creating the 2 files in GUI_DATA.

Thanks Matthias. Now please can those pink stripes (near the clocks/logos and down at the top of the engine output) be kindly asked to disappear? :)

One more thing: I set the book to random per game but it seems engines played the same position with colours reversed.

And I thought the colour is great
Next ChessGUI will remove them.

Please let others express their opinion before you do that lest they ask you for those stripes. :)

ChessGUI 0.142 is now bugfixed and will not try to help update engine options anymore .

As usual, it is my T-Online website that should be immediately up-to-date.

Matthias.

Found and fixed memory bug in ChessGUI 0.145 !
2 windows in BigView were not being erased before each new game :( .
Thanks to Graham and Ray for noticing the memory consumption.
