FSharpChess Alpha 0.194

Postby Tony Mokonen » 27 May 2009, 02:18

While I was googling around, I ran across this program, which says it is a port of SharpChess to F#:

http://fsharpchess.codeplex.com/

I've tried downloading several versions of this program, but have gotten nothing but run time errors. I have .NET redistributables installed, is there something extra that I would need to run a program written in F#? I am completely unfamiliar with this language.

Hi Pablo. I was able to download the program, but was unable to get it to run. It would crash every time I ran it. I figured out the problem however; I had to install the September 2008 version of F#, available here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

Previously, I had tried the more recent May 2009 version of F#, and that didn't seem to work for me.

Even so, I have crashing problems with version 0.194 of FSharpChess, though older versions of this engine ran fine for me. 0.194 would play book moves, but crashes when it starts thinking.

Hi Tom
The same happened to me. If you discover the reason of crashing please tell me
