Doch 09.980 (uci) by Don Dailey

Windows x64/win32 Intel compiler 11/10 pgo builds
plus 64 bit Linux compile (by Don) included.

From Readme >
Doch is a 64 bit chess program developed by Don Dailey with help from
Grandmaster Larry Kaufman in an advisory role. It's currently under
fairly heavy development and is in a primitive, but now fairly usable
state.

Doch depends on a UCI based user interface. The command line options
are mostly non-functional and/or temporary so experiment at your own
risk!

The strength of doch is unknown, as it has not been rated by any of
the popular rating agencies. Some 64 bit programs have been optimized
to run relatively well on 32 bit platforms, but no work has been done
in this area so far for doch.

Special thank are in order for Jim Ablett who produced fast windows
executables for doch and promotes computer chess in general.

Also, much credit goes to the authors of open source chess programs.
Many of the ideas and techniques for doch have been borrowed from
these wonderful works of art.

At this time doch is not available as source code. It is distributed
free for private use but it is forbidden to use doch in chess
competitions without the authors consent.

Many thanks Don!

Jim.

Great news Jim !

We advised Don on the ChessWar chat to contact you in order to have fast Doch compiles :) I can promise you it is very strong for a primitive engine

A small error : the x64 version says Doch32 (should be Doch64).

Any plans for a 32-bit compile or is there one in your package?

Hi Graham,

There is a 32 bit windows version included in the download package. Don is working on getting a 32 bit Linux version out too
but I can't say how soon that will be available.

Thanks Jim. Good timing with my next amateur series about to start. When Don says he doesn't want it used in tournaments, does that mean I can't use it for my own tournaments?

Cheers,
Graham.

I assume Don is referring to official tournaments, but maybe best to ask him first for clarification.
His email is on the readme in the package.
