Variations broken in last dev version?

I have option /variations=true in latest winboard build (http://hgm.nubati.net/WinBoard-4.5.0.exe) but even after I enter some variation (I go back few moves in mainline and enter some new moves), "Revert" and "Annotate" options remain grayed out and my main line is lost. Can someone please confirm this bug or am I doing something wrong?

Same behaviour, but I don't really know how to edit variations in winboard, I never used it as a game editor/viewer.

We changed the interface, for better backward compatibility: to start a new variation, you have to keep Shift pressed while entering the move in edit-position or analysis mode.
