Help needed editing position with JAWS

Postby itaca » 29 Oct 2011, 08:54

Hi,

When I press control + shift + e to edit a position, how can I clear the full squares before placing the position I need?

Thank you.

In edit-position mode you can type Ctrl+R to summon up the piece menu. Normally you would select a piece from it, and it would be put on the square where the board cursor was when you typed the Ctrl+R. But at the very bottom of this menu there are two entries, Empty Square (left column) and Clear Board (right column).

To clear a selected square, you can also move the board cursor to an empty square, pick it up by pressing the space bar, move to the square you want to clear, and put it down there, by pressing space again. I.e. you can move around empty squares just like you can move around pieces.
