Alfil 12 version

The new Alfil12 winboard version is a mistery for me . At Winboard show error, at Arena appear the big Alfil own board and apparently do not read Arena books. Only as a Gui play OK.

Hi Pablo. The archive for Alfil 12 contains 3 exe files. AlfilWinBoard-en.exe and AlfilWinBoard-es.exe are actually copies of the Winboard GUI, not Winboard engines. Alfil.exe is the engine, and it is UCI only, no winboard support. Alfil 12 supports CTG books natively, but in the UCI options you can uncheck the OwnBook option, and then you can use it with an Arena book. Hopefully this helps.

Now is clear for me. The only doubt is that anyhow I uncheck the own book option at Arena, it seems Alfil 12 do not read selected Arena book.

Hi Pablo,

The Own Book option is one of Alfil's UCI options. I use the key combination Ctrl-1 if Alfil is the first engine, or Ctrl-2 if it is the second engine, to display an engine's UCI options.
