I have just recently discovered the excitement of computer chess programming. I am nearly ready to release my first engine, called "Vicki". She played (my apology for the emotional attachment!) her first game against me yesterday and lost misserably! At least there is still a lot that I can add. At the moment I'm using Java as I feel that brute hardware/language speed is not key in enhancing engine strength - algorithms are. I plan to port her to C once she plays strong enough and I am running out of ideas!
I am now implementing the xboard protocol, but I cannot find documentation explaining how to pass an en-passant move from engine to xboard and vice verca. Can someone please send me an example move?
