A request for Jim Ablett

Postby Tony Mokonen » 14 Dec 2006, 21:55

Hello. I hope this isn't too forward of a request from a newbie like me. I noticed that new source versions of Amundsen (0.55.1) and Typhoon (1.00 rev 307) are available, and I was wondering if you could make your trademark speed compiles of these engines. Thank you.

Hello Tony,

I haven't compiled rev 307 of Typhoon because from rev 304 to 307 there hasn't been any changes to the engine. Click on the revision log link on my homepage - (if you can, the Scott's site comes and goes) I'll compile it for you if you really want it, but there's no point really. All you're getting is the same engine, different rev number.

I'll definitely compile the latest Amundsen. I'll get to work on it now and post back here later.

Thanks for your interest,

Jim.

Version 0.55.1: (released in December 2006)
-------------------------------------------
Bugfix: Made sure that the engine doesn't bail out with floating point
exception if the xboard "level" command isn't given. Credits to
Robert Ancell for pointing out this bug. No new features added.

Is it safe to assume that there is absolutely no strength change?

Hi Tony,

Is it safe to assume that there is absolutely no strength change?

Yes, that's correct. Just a bugfix.
