Glaurung 2 - epsilon/4

Postby Tord Romstad » 08 Jun 2007, 12:57

Just a day after Glaurung 2 - ε/3, I am forced to release a new version: Marc Lacrosse quickly discovered a pondering bug which would cause my engine to lose on time in almost every single game with ponder on. I clearly have to test more carefully before releasing a new version. :(

Glaurung 2 - ε/4, which is now available from my site fixes this bug. At the moment, only the source code and Mac OS X binaries are included, Linux and Windows executables will probably follow within the next few days.

When playing with ponder off, version 2 - ε/4 is identical to 2 - ε/3.

I apologize for the inconvenience, and for not testing more thoroughly.

The Linux binary is at the usual place.

Thanks, Volker! :)

I'll put it on my web page in a moment.

Thanks to Fritz Reul and Volker Pittlik, I now have Windows and Linux executables of the new version available from my site. I hope there are no more serious bugs waiting to be found.
