Allerdings dieses ?18+23+1? verstehe ich genausowenig wie Du!?
M?glicherweise sollten da die Figurenanzahlen f?r Wei?+Schwarz stehen -
so ist es jedenfalls bei Schachproblem-Aufgaben ?blich (also hier 16+16).

Dachte ich auch zuerst, ist aber offensichtlich flasch. Immerhin sind solche r?tselhaften Zahlen auch bei http://www.rebnora.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=164 zu finden. Ist vielleicht irgendwas mit dem Script. Aber ich kann damit leben.

dieses ?16+2? ist doch f?r diese Stellung korrekt!

The diagram script is a bit "abused" here because it is written to handle positions of a chess variant. It only handles the piece placement part of the FEN string as expected. I simply paste the string twice. Once inside the diagram once after it.

I also noticed that if I right-click the image and select properties, I can get to the fen string. [using mozilla]

BTW the subject line is kinda small in posts - I think. yes/no?

Thanks for the hint. Yes I agree the subject line is to small. I'm working on a theme of the subSilver style. I'll choose the colors of the old WB forum. I'll also have a look if I can find how to change the size of the subject line. This may need some days.

Thank you. It seems that the diagram is not displayed properly when the whole FEN string is used (r3kb1r/p4ppp/2p1b3/3n3P/8/1P2qP2/PB1NQ1P1/2KR1B1R b kq - 0 17).

I suggest to use the piece placement part (r3kb1r/p4ppp/2p1b3/3n3P/8/1P2qP2/PB1NQ1P1/2KR1B1R) only. I'm going to write a readme and will include this information.

I suppose it is sufficient to get rid of two last integers.
If I am right, the following diagram will look OK:
