Found one that works!

http://cygwin.com/snapshots/cygwin1-20041026.dll.bz2

unpack and rename cygwin1.dll

Now it's looking for polyglot.ini !

Jim.

If you get the 1.1 version from the download section in Leo's site (WBEC) you will also see the cygwin1.dll that is needed. The readme.txt tells you about polyglot.ini.

Sorry Peter, Leo's cygwin1.dll doesn't work either.

Strange, that's the one I'm using (IIRC).
I placed in the same directory as Polyglot and not in the Windows directory.

Did the same thing here.

Would not work with Leo's cygwin1.dll (1005.11.0.0).

Code: Select all
'The procedure entry point_impure_ptr could not be located .... '

But will work with the one I found. (1005.12.0.0)

Hi Franz,
You missed it!
It's about three replies above this one.

There are also other builds on the webpage.

You?re right Jim -
sorry but I completely overlooked it!

But now it?s already working - if you?re still searching for a valid ?Polyglot.ini?, here?s the one from an earlier version on Leo?s site:
Code: Select all
[PolyGlot]

EngineName = Fruit
EngineDir = .
EngineCommand = fruit

Log = false
LogFile = fruit.log

[Engine]

Hash = 64

NalimovPath = .
NalimovCache = 8

OwnBook = true

Of course you?ll have to change it for your wanted engine, but it works! :D

Best regards,
Franz.

Good find Jim. Works now.

A slight correction to my post, second on the list. I referred to the cygwin1.dll by date. That date was a download date and irrelevant. That version was 1005.5.0.0 and of course that did not work with polyglotx. The version that does work is 1005.12.0.0.
