Terra 3.3

Postby Peter Fendrich » 23 Jan 2005, 23:50

Version 3.3 of Terra should soon be found at Leo's site for download.
This is essentially the same as Terra 3.3B11 that has been around for a while. More information at: http://terra.fendrich.se

And now I can focus on Alaric in the future!

One more thing.
If you can't wait until it reaches Leo's site you can get it here:

Have fun!

Speaking of Terra...

I've got a problem to make Terra resign. There is an option in the ini file which is set to 1, nevertheless Terra continues to play until it is checkmated.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers,

Martin

You're probably doing nothing wrong at all.
Terra have a quite complicated set of rules in order to decide to give up or not.
First of all it must be with the WB protocol. In UCI it isn't allowed to resign.
    - Rule 1: If one resign is sent. Don't do it again.
    - Rule 2: Don't resign if material is not bad enough (bishop down for 4 moves)
    - Rule 3: Don't resign if opponent time is very short (5 seconds)
    - Rule 4: Don't resign if opponent has a forced mate
    - Rule 5: Don't resign if my last move was a check
    - Rule 6: Don't resign if the opponent hasn't improved his eval at least 0.75 in total during the previous 4 moves
