Some questions (danchess, mscp, boot...)

Postby Peter Eizenhammer » 19 Mar 2005, 00:47

Hello,

pls let me ask some questions:
- Is DanChess 1.04a the last version with published source code? Daniel's homepage seems out of reach for me.
- Similar question about Alex Morozov's booot: Is the 3.0 the last version with sources added?
- And finally: Are the improvements of mscp by Jim Ablett available as sources? Or is that a plan for the future only?

Yes.
But there will probably be an update soon with a new
name Scorpio.

Hello Peter,

The source to MSCP is included with the download as part of
compliance with the GPL. With all my tinkering I'm afraid
I've made quite a mess a Marcel's nice clear simple code, you'll
probably be quite horrified when you look at the source. The only
real changes are time control and static eval. I've used this project
as a means to learn how to program in c, having never touched
it before this.

Regards,
Jim.

To Daniel:
That is interesting news. I am looking forward to Scorpio!
Your (relatively early) version Danchess1.04a is quite strong allready,
thx for it and for your answer.

To Jim:
Thanks for your answer, I have included your inofficial mscp enhancement
into my little tournament. First glances show that it plays quite decent chess,
so your work is definitively worth doing, thx for it.

About Booot:
I do have the version 3.3 with sources, obviously i had some problem accessing my memory, sorry.
