Hello Pablo,

Please recall that Dann does his thing on a voluntary basis. My short term memory is bad but even I can recall your last posting on this engine.

He will or he won't. Perhaps you might address your concerns to the author.

There are so many other engines to enjoy....

:-)

Have a nice day.

Later.

Work stuff comes in waves. I usually stay late on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and work for a couple of hours on my hobbies. But lately, I have been doing work stuff instead.

Once deadlines pass, things will calm down again.

Hello Roger:
I know quite well Dann do a lot of voluntary and great contributions to the Winboard group.
I am very very sorry if my wording appear as a kind of pressure regarding the Hoichess theme, which compilation was made by Dann and in April 7 he quote "At some point I will get back to it and fix it."
My simple and modest intention was to maintain the theme alive.
Dann, if you read this lines please also accept my deep and sincere excuses.
Best regards,
Pablo

Hello Pablo,

Please accept my deepest apologies if I misunderstood the tone of your post.

Can I ask a question:

Do you actually use all the Winboard engines that are released? I am sure that you have written bug reports on almost every new release!

What is your deep and dark secret?

Basement tournaments? Insatiable collector? Winboard fanatic?

Really is not a question is a lot of questions. I wonder also the reason of this sudden interest in my private psychological profile.
Anyhow I will try to answer your questions.
1)No, I do not write bug reports in almost new release.
2)Yes I play(use) as a test almost all Winboard engines releases, but I stay with those that I consider reliable or with future.
3)Sorry, but I do not know which are my deep and dark secrets so I apologize being unable to answer this question. Sorry also, that I do not have any mental physician that you can ask for.
4)I do not understand what you mean for basement tournaments? so I am not able to answer that question.
5)I am an Winboard engine collector but not insatiable.
6)No, I am not a fanatic of anything.

I hope I answered almost all your questions and you can be more calm now.
Cheers,
Pablo

Hmmmmm,

You seem to have missed the humour in my post Pablo.

I actually will try to address your points in sequence

(1) Check your posts. You do write "reports" (perhaps comments is a better word) about releases which do not work for various reasons. I think your posts are a valuable service. You seem to be defensive about it. I have no idea why....

(2) Good to know that. I use Winboard almost exclusively here myself.

(3) Deep dark secrets was a joke. Sorry you seemed offended by it. I actually have absolutely no interest in your secrets, dark or otherwise. Yours - or in any one else's.

(4) Basement tournaments are tournaments played on your computer at home for your own enjoyment. 99% of my tournaments are of this type. Again this was covered by the smilie.

(5) I am insatiable.

(6) I am a fanatic Winboarder.

I was never excited Pablo.

I took the time to apologise if my earlier post was taken the wrong way. You missed that too.

Your post is quite rude in tone and the unfortunate thing is that it really was in appreciation of your methodical style - which is particularly good for authors who need a nudge now and again.

I have no interest in your profile, your life or your secrets. I now understand that joking with you is a hazardous exercise and will refrain from doing so in the future.

I hope you calm down now and please, do not take yourself so seriously.

I don't.

Just an aside:
I am (for all intents and purposes) impossible to insult, so never worry about doing that.

I look at it this way:
If someone says something negative, it is true or false. If it is true, then the criticism is both valid and valuable. If it is false, then why should I worry about it? Probably it is just a misunderstanding.

I was not annoyed in the least about prodding for action. Probably, I should be more proactive about saying when I might get something done. The thing of it is, I always imagine that some time might appear. Besides a busy time at work, my middle son Bronze is getting married on April 30, and so there are a million things to do for that (I have parts in the wedding and reception, and have do the bazillion preparation things that are needed).

At any rate, I will eventually get "around to it." But no guarantees or promises. The funny thing is, it is probably trivial to fix it. But I just don't have the focus or the time right now to attack it.

So...
Let's all take a deep breath. Language barrier issues often make both sides of the fence sound funny to each other. So let's just start over and pretend like a big reboot happened and the memories of concern were somehow erased.

As always, IMO-YMMV.

Hello Roger:
I fully agree with you that I never understood that your recriminations and inquisitions were a joke. I am very very sorry for it, so please forgive me. The possible reasons of my mistake is that english is not my native language and is difficult for me to understand the subtle meaning of english wording. Also since your responsability at the Winboard Forum is "Site Administrator ", one of your obligations is to impeach rule trasgresors and some of your previous wording sound as an accomplishment of that duty, more than a joke, moreover when you appear to talk in Dann`s behalf. The last reason, maybe the most important is that I am half German by my mother, an Germans sometime are a little "square" with their pardon and do not understand jokes.
After my previous considerations, my proposal is to finish now this exchange of expressions and feelings.
Regards,
Pablo

Hi Dann:
Nice philosophical thoughts and reconciliatory words.
I fully agree with your statement that language barrier issues often make both sides to sound funny to each other. Specially if one part is trying to express his ideas or thoughts in a foreing language that is not his native language, moreover for him to interpret the subtle meaning of others wording.
I know quite well the previous mess when a son or daughter are getting married. One of my younger daughters married last December.
My best wishes for the future married life of your son and bride.
The best for your son wedding, with my regards,
Pablo

PS: Forget Hoichess until you can.

This is a tempest in a teapot with some obvious misunderstandings due to language. It is clear that nobody meant anybody any harm or disrespect.
