Engines for collectors

Postby Jim Ablett » 23 Apr 2005, 08:59

I had quite a few people contact me asking for these now
'unavailable' chess engines so I decided to make them available for
download temporarily, for all you avid chess engine colectors.

Hello Jim Ablett,

Absolutely no trading of engines in the Forum!

What next?

Fritz 19.67?

:D

Thanks for offering these engines for the collectors among us.

A question for you...

Your Mscp builds, do they now use two books?

I have one book called tournament and another callled big in the rar file.

Could you gently explain for the slow among us (read me) precisely how one gets the engine to use one or the other or both?

Thanks.

Later.

Ps. Thanks for injecting some life in Mscp, Cillian etc.....

Hello Roger,

Mscp uses two books - Tournament and Big.

Big is always used for black - many more defensive openings
Tournament is used for white by default - good openings for white,
but can be changed in the mscp.ini file to Big if you wish.

Hang-on... now I confused :?

It all seemed perfectly logical at the time! :)

Mscp and Skaki are matched up in the latest round of ChessWar.
I'm programmed them to always play for a draw whenever they meet - a bit like an Austria vs Germany football match! :) .

It'll be interesting to see the outcome.

best regards,
Jim.
