problem with Arena 1.1

Postby Daniel Shawul » 25 Apr 2005, 14:29

Hi,
My Arena 1.1 crushes when starting some engines.
It displays an exception error. I tried reinstalling it , but
it still crushes sometimes.
Another minor bug is it sometimes display double or triple PV(
all same) for some UCI engines.
Are these problems already fixed and a fix available?

Hi Andrew
i feared this post may not be welcome here.
Anyway the crushing problem is solved in the new Arena
setup ( big one with engines). some UCI engines still
display double PVs though.

My suggestion would be, to give details of exact Arena version, Engine versions it crashes with, OS (Windows version) and CPU type. Then, other users can try if the problem is reproduceable.

I am using the (afaik) latest oficial Arena 1.1 Build 1847 with ~20 different freeware engines, both WB. and UCI, in Windows XP Home with Pentium M (Centrino) CPU, and never expierienced a GUI crash so far with any engine I tried.
Regards & mfg.

It is Arena 1.1 that comes has SOS 5.1.
But the problem is gone with the big setup(the one with many engines
in it). The problem occurs when an engine is being started.
It diplays an exception error message in German.
My OS is WinXp.
some Uci engines, Spike for example, displays double PV.

p.s: my intention is not to cause trouble
