Hi WinBoard Fan's
32MHz gegen 459MHZ. Saphire II macht eine sehr gute Figur gegen Dchess. Momentan steht es 10-3 für Saphire II.(Blitz, 5 Min. / Partie)
MfG Clemens
Hi WinBoard fans!
32MHz against 459MHZ. Saphire II looks pretty good against Dchess.after 15 Blitz matches(5 min. /game) Saphire II leads clear with 10-3 points.
kind regards Clemens
I'm unclear on how you can run a blitz match between a standalone Chess program and a Winboard program.
Pete
Hi Pete
Novag Saphire II is able to play at Internet chess servers! It uses a 'Distributorbox' and is playing by using the WinBoard GUI in zippy mode(with all zippy features!).
Thats cool-is'nt it?!!
regards Clemens
That sounds very cool, I never heard of that. I just dug it up in a catalog and it's a little hand held computer! Wow.

Clemens,
I'm just curious about how well it does against Zchess, have you played it against that program yet? It's a Winboard program that I've been very impressed with. I always thought that Zchess could play some rather surprising combinations.

Pete,
YChess ...
For 2 1/2 years I play an tournament with ...
Centaur, YChess, Diogenes, Now, Zarkov 2.51, RexChess 2.3, InterChess (alias Goliath in text mode), Sibirian Chess, Mirage and more (Pentium 166) !
This tournament (swiss system) win YChess and Zarkov 5,0/6 and 3. Diogenes 2.3 4,0/6 !
I see that YChess play an fantastic chess and I think that YChess play with 2350 ELO ! And YChess - Saitek Sparc 20 MHz (1 minute for move, YChess on Pentium 166) 13,5 : 16,5 !
Kind regards
Frank
Frank,
I meant to say Zchess (Franck Zibi's), I got it right in the body of my post but I put the wrong program in the header part, I'm sorry. But yes, Ychess! Ychess is a great program, another one of my favorite programs, that's probably why I mixed them up. I have to sit down and put together a list of programs that use a letter of the alphabet and then Chess, Like: Ychess, Zchess, Dchess, Kchess, Uchess, (I think of Exchess as being Xchess) that's all I can come up with.

Then to drift farther from the original topic, the catagory of Simple Chess programs that many people aren't so aware of: TSCP (Tom Kerrigan's Simple Chess program), SCP (John Stanbeck's Chess program, gnuchess grew from this) and MSCP (Marcel van Kervinck Simple Chess Program).
