Avog at Gambitsoft? That's just a Dos version of Crafty (I think it was v15.5) the code has allot of editing, and there's a large board that automatically displays after every move without using the "D" or "display" command. It doesn't really work in Winboard because it's not compiled for win32. It was more or less meant to give people without Windows 95 a way to easilly play against a newer Crafty than the one that Gambitsoft had for download (v9.3)Hello Pete,I never saw Titanic (I knew how it was going to end) but are you sure that picture is acurate?I am a "WinBoarder" ...

I have not been able to make LarsenVB work! It's a Visual Basic program, and I think that you need to have Visual Basic on your computer for it to work. I tried to get around that problem by adding a dll file called msvbvm60.dll and I also updated a dll file in my c:\windows\system directory, so then LarsenVB stopped complaining about dll files, but I couldn't make it work in Winboard, and it doesn't seem to have it's own interface, so I don't know what to do about LarsenVB, I hear it's being revised, so maybe next version I'll be able to use, I think that you really needs to have Visual Basic to use it though.
I don't think that is necessary. Mine works fine without problems and there have never been anything like visual basic installed on my harddisk. If you change the path in the ini-file to the where winboard is installed, you can even click on the the LarsenVB executable and play a game against it directly.I have not been able to make LarsenVB work!
