warum verlangt Gromit mindestens 16 MB Hash-Tables?

I experienced the same, but you can use a pgnbook, so I just used fritz4.pgn. It's nice that TCB and Gromit use the same userinterface. Looking forward to seeing how strong it is.
Best wishes...

Is it really true that Gromit 3.00 does not have its own opening book?

The program is very young and I think that Kai and Frank made in the next time or "later" :-) an opening book. But I play a lot of test games with Gromit in the last months (with test versions) and must say that the Fritz4 book is very good for Gromit !
In one of 200 games lose Gromit in a opening variant very fast !

So far Frank and I have worked very hard on the engine. The openingbook will be improved in the future, but we have many ideas to improve the engine first.

You can use the book from The Crazy Bishop or create a book from a pgn-collection. As long as it is possible to create a reasonable book yourself it isn't that troublesome. BTW, big thanks goes to Schneider and Skibbe for releasing Gromit to the public.
Best wishes...

Reply to Mogens:
You are right. We must be thankful to Frank Schneider and Kai Skibbe for releasing Gromit 3.00 to the public. And by the way I can confirm that the fritz4.fbk is in general a very good book for almost all chess programs.
Best wishes
Kurt
