Book not working

Could someone point me to a FAQ or thread. When I download various engines and corresponding books for WinBoard the engines work but the programs have no book.
What gives?

For some engines an entry like "book=on" is required in the ini.file

2)
There are engines having empty bok.datas after downloading. And in such cases the books must be separately downloaded.

Also, if you download Frank's config.zip file at http://www.in-trier.de/~quisinsky/schach/download.htm you will find the initiation file for all of the Winboard engines, if the engine doesn't have such a file, then see what Frank did in his winboard.ini file because it might be taken care of by a command line parameter.

Please read the readme files coming with the engines carefully. The
setups are a little different with any engine.
E.g. to make Anmon using the book you have to edit the file
anmon.ini
and add:
ENABLE_BOOK = TRUE
For Crafty you simply have to have the book files in the same
directory.
Comet likes: BOOK [ON or OFF]: ON in comet.ics
