On a Pentium 133 with 4 MB hash, time control 5m/G Comet B.20 beat Comet B.18-2 by a score of 21,5-11,5. I don't think at longer controls this would change direction...

Okay Okay. I just posted one result of a 5 min game match...and wondered if it's a freak result..
Anyway I tried a series of 30 mins matchs on my Pii226
against a sieries of opponents..
Results were not bad..
CometB20 vers Crafty1710 1.5-0.5
CometB20 vers Anmon506 1.5-0.5
CometB20 vers Light GoliathV205 1-1
CometB20 vers SOS 0.5-1.5
CometB20 Vers Gormit30 0.5-1.5
5/10 against a strong pool..More testing to do..
What time controls do you recommend for testing for programs that cannot do the "games in X type" of time controls that is relatively similar to a 30 0 game?

60 moves in 30 mins?

1st of all, thx for testing.
60 moves in 30 mins is interesting. 60 moves in 20 mins is also useful, and you would probably not need more time per game than for game/30.

According to my first results under fritz comet b20 seems to be better
than b18. Up to now ca. 50 points playing blitz.
Games are still going on, may be it will change...
Also improved: crafty 17.10 !
