Note also that a very good way to quickly establish a solid rating is to play against opponents with the best known ELO's in several ranges. For instance, Comet, ExChess3 and Chessterfield have very good tolerances for ELO as far as certainty is concerned. Playing against those three engines a large number of games will quickly form a solid rating.

Good point, since Dann Corbit stated that only publically available engines will take part..This probably means it will be released soon?

If I don't get notification, then Manhole Cover can't play. It's an awful shame, because of many reasons. First, GD2 is a real terror. I leave that game in the list just as a reminder to gather interest.
Second, the author is an expert in C and *also* an expert chess player of near GM strength. This combination is so rare as to be astounding.
Third, the program code itself is very interesting. I wish very deeply that I could share it but I will never under any circumstances violate my oaths.
GD2 is a Jabberwocky wich gyres and gimbles in the wabe. I absolutely love that program. I love its code. I love its play. Hopefully, someday, we can open the gate and let it chew its victoms with reckless abandon

How does it compare to Yace? It will be amazing if it's around the same strength..A big shake up among the top winboard engines..

The game was against Amy? The average opponent ELo is 2305, but who is that?

Definitely..hope so
Aaron
