hm... have we seen with version 04.5 the last free winboard engine of crux ? Or are you planning to release 05.0 later as wb-eninge ? I am really looking forward, if you have done a 300 points jump it must be an interesting engine and of course stronger then my Quark... :)

Yes, this version is the last public-engine per se.
Latter time yes, momentan this version exist only GUI version built-in.
the new Crux has double-speed loop, and much much more novelty...
the results are cheerful, but at present the WB compatible version has bugs

the complete version releasing time lie over...

ps.: which is the latest version of your engine??
on your page this is 1.01 ??

:( -- :) Well, no prob. at all... I hope you will have much success with your GUI, you can be sure that I will follow your progress... :) (In Paderborn I was wearing the first two days the nice Crux-T-Shirt... because in some way it was YOU who brought me back to chess programming... :)
at the moment I am preparing the next release, I want to buildt in some more features for the community and test overall stability. If I get the green light from my betas then I will release it... I have want to before paderborn, but there was to much work to do... Present version on my harddisk is v1.21alpha, release version is maybe v1.22 or v1.23 - there will be no change to the playing strength since paderborn but some bugfixes and some more functions, it will also be Winboard prot. II - compatible and have a built in testsuite command... (but for the beginning with only little .epd-compatibility)
After release I will try to increase the strength of Quark again, let's see what will come out... :)
I am also planning to include UCI-compatibility, but I must do some beta-tests myself so this will take a little time, say early May or so... - nothing fixed so far...

Cool !
and at the moment your success is tremendous...:))

EPD compatinility is relevant, you can measure your engine strength.
Crux GUI also supported this mode...

Dear WYx:
You say the New Crux is 300 Elo Stronger than 04.X.
Questions:
- How can you measure the new Engine is Stronger in 300 Elo-Point?
- How can you get suitable results from EPD-Suites if Crux doesn't measure the exact time that a specific position is reached? For example, I cannot measure this in Crux4.5b.
- How can you run automated computer-Matches with the new GUI? Does Crux is Autoplayer232 Compatible?
- Does the New Crux GUI have a Opening Style Book?
- Can you create Opening Books from PGN-Files?
- Have you thought to make Crux comptible with the most known GUIs: ChessBase, ChessMillenium and ChessPartner?
Really thanks if you can asnwer this questions, but I am curious.
Regards, Arturo.

I hope you keep the Winboard compatibility in the New Releases. Your Quark 1.20b is a tremendous Engine.
I think Paderborn was a great experience for you.
Congratulations for the great victory over Zchess, one of my favorite winboard-engine.
Now, I am beta-testing LambChop, a terrific engine: Behind it is a Strong Player beyond 2300.
I have only played some light games against Quark but I must admit I have to pay a hard attention to the games. If you improve the knolewdge in the endgame either Table-Bases or Programming, you will get a great Engine.
I would like to know if you've considered the ChessBase Compatibility as much as the EPD Test Suites in native mode.
Thanks Thomas for offering this great Engine in progress.
Regards, Arturo.

Now
the GUI based on my crux 05.0b engine! (WB)
this exist now!
but, I observe (i wrote this) many errors... (mostly the draw detection)
built crux GUI 1.4 is the engine 04.6b, and the new GUI (1.5) contains version
05.0b.
If you want, compare the results between 1.4 and 1.5.

No.
05.0b engine is WB comaptible.
I'm testing under WB of course.
the results are favourable for Crux.
(fully latter)
at present no, but I'm planning this.
crux uses special opening book.
Under Fritz 6 demo has been tested the new crux, I hope so, I make to
Chessbase compatible the next public version.
:))
thanx your interest....

cheers
