Yes, that's the problem. On my machines I could hardly finish a game with Crux. It crashes too often. To tell the truth, I wanted to check whether it is worth downloading.Of course, but why?Did it play under WinBoard?www.cruxchess.8m.com

But you must know that, I (and others too) have already reported it several times. The latest version I used (05.0f) also crashed in almost every game.

Hi Laszlo, do you ever play matches with the /mg command under Winboard.
Please try to play a 8 games match with "/mg 8" and tell then or it
crashed on your computer(s) or not.(you know it crashed by me)
Leo.
I may be wrong but I suspect Crux is more inclined to crash when its opening book is turned on. Even without an outside book. I suggest taking away the built-in book from the program. You can use an outside book so you don't need it anyway, and it may be responsible for the crashings.Hi Laszlo, do you ever play matches with the /mg command under Winboard.

Hi Leo
my environments are:
win95OSR2 192 MB RAM, Celeron, winboard 4.2.3
win2000prof 128 MB RAM, Celeron,winboard 4.2.3
win98 64 MB RAM, Celeron, winboard 4.2.3
and example:
winboard.exe /fcp="Crux -xboard" /fd="C:\admin\wb\crux\" /scp="sjeng" /sd="C:\admin\wb\sjeng\" /mg 10 /tc 5 /inc 0 /debug /sgf probe.pgn
and with these lines Crux 05.0g works fine...
