PGN Download

Postby Anonymous » 22 Oct 2004, 22:39

Hello, I started to get back into computer chess because I got bored and got a new computer. So I wanted to make my own book. Does anyone know a good PGN where it only has all the white games as a win and vice-versa, so i can create the ultimate book?? THX!

or better yet, if there is none, what is a good program i can use to seperate games and stuff? a freeware...like chessbase (but thats not free)

Pgn-extract can do what you require > example:

Pgn-extract Karpov.pgn -Tr1-0 -oFile.pgn

Would create a pgn from Karpov.pgn with only white wins.

I usually use 2600.pgn which can be found at Dann Corbit's site.

2600.pgn collection is very faulty, watch out.

As in the subject. I've found a host of wrongly transcribed games, many doublets with wrong final scores, etc. Watch out. You can use some programs that have good parsers to check this out.

regards.
