download CEGT games 40/40 June/July

Postby Heinz van Kempen » 25 Jun 2005, 18:23

Hi all :) ,

1100 Fruit 2.1 games with CEGT time control 40/40 (2Ghz) are available for download, alternatively with or without comments. After game 1100 I will start a new database, so that people do not have to download the older games again.

http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/downloads.htm

A ratinglist was calculated after 1074 games for Fruit. An improved one with additional individual statistics will be given as soon as there is time. Fruit 2.1 improved by 2 points due to very good results in Michael?s matches against "weaker" opponents. Error bars are still huge.

http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/rating.dat

A table with scores against all others is also available:

http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/tabelle ... 212506.htm

A new tester will join CEGT in the next days.

Thanks for your interest

Hi all :) ,

the improved rating list with individual statistics is available. You get those statistics when clicking the name of an engine. This great tool is designed by CEGT Tester Michael Koppel.

Hi all :) ,

the CEGT rating list is updated. After finishing the Fruit 2.1 test in around 7 to 10 days there will be less frequent updates (usually only all two weeks).

Fruit and Fritz now only three points apart partly due to positive results from Charles in the match Fruit vs. Fritz.

http://www.miko42.de/cegt/turniere/cegtall.html

Well, as soon as we will be above 2000 games, error bars only decrease slowly, so I can already predict that even 5000 games won?t be enough to tell which one is better under CEGT conditions. They are just too close.

Hi all :) ,

the rating list is updated again.

http://www.miko42.de/cegt/turniere/cegtall.html

Apart from more Fruit 2.1 games there are also new games in from the City Grand Prix Rio and some matches Uschi played with Ufim.

To do the test for Fruit 2.1 more systematically over the next days we will mainly play that way that this engine receives 100 games against all top commercials down to CMX Yoda. Then we will proceed against the best amateurs. Should average opposition ELO get too high we will play more games against "weaker" amateurs.

Hi all :) ,

after almost 1500 games Fruit 2.1 is second now in the CEGT Ratinglist 40/40 (2 Ghz).

Main reasons:

- a long series of wins and draws against Shredder improving winning percentage to 44% after 100 games

- positive score against almost all others (expect Ruffian Leiden so far) including Fritz

- great performance against Hiarcs

- very good result in CEGT City Grand Prix

Michael is actually also testing Fruit 2.1 for his Blitz Ratinglist with 7+4 on faster AMD?s. Results up to now are very positive, seemingly even better than in CEGT with longer time controls. In this list you will also have a comparison to Toga II 0.93 based on Fruit 2.0, as Michael so far is the only one from the CEGT testers who tested it. As Michael gives many games for each engine in this list (more than 1000 usually), you will get first results maybe this weekend.

You can find the CEGT Ratinglist on my homepage (for individual stats please click the name of the engine). An updated table with individual scores is also available under CEGT free.

Hi Kurt :) ,

thanks, the team will be happy about comments by experienced testers like you. We should start to think that we do not have some sort of competition here, but running all fine tournaments for the community of people interested in computer chess.

Just let me add that all can only be done with the help of testers not posting a lot but contributing constantly and reliably over the months running their computers days and nights like for example Charles and by others adding fresh ideas for tournaments and also nice graphics for the websites like Uschi.

The Fruit test will be finished by the beginning of next week and we are already discussing how to continue. Maybe something like a big combined new version tournament including Pharaon 3.3, AnMon 5.53, maybe Glaurung 0.2.4 together with those engines that have still less than 500 games in the rating list.

Proposals are welcome.

Hi all :) ,

even with so many games there can be considerable changes and the new rating list now shows Fruit clearly ahead of Fritz after 1969 games.

This comes mainly because of latest very positive results in Ralf?s matches between those two and results from Charles against top engines including Shredder were also good and other new ones from Uschi versus Ktulu and in City Grand Prix.

A few matches against Glaurung 0.2.4, Chess Tiger 15 and Ktulu 7.0a are still in progress, but the Fruit 2.1 test will be finished tomorrow although there will of course come more games over the weeks from different CEGT tournaments.

A table with individual results is also available under CEGT free. Download for all Fruit games tomorrow.

http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/

Exceptionally I give the rating list showing also those with less than 90 games which are usually surpressed. Ratings with less than 500 games are merely accidental. A lot of this engines will be included in the "new version" tournament starting tomorrow, but no betas and privates. Until then Charles and I will run Glaurung 0.2.4 (Bryan Hofmann compile) welcome matches against Ktulu, Spike, Zappa, Pseudo and Fruit.

Hi all :) ,

download for new Fruit 2.1 games 40/40 (2 Ghz) from all CEGT testers with or without comments is available now. Compared to the first download, a few doublettes crept in. I will check later.

Another download from all CEGT games June/July excluding this games next weekend.

Ratinglist updated after 2000 Fruit games. Next update only in about two weeks.

Thanks to all CEGT testers for their help.

Thanks to Fabien for this great engine. We still cannot believe that it is for free.

Just to add that Michael is also running a test with many games for his 10 minutes rating list with Fruit 2.1.
