Hi all,
there is a new wb-engine available. It is Atlas 1.0 from Spain, downloadable from this site:
http://usuarios.lycos.es/miafichess/
Mi first impression: It plays stable; the strenght is similar to Storm, Pooky or Adamant.
Cheers
Axel

At a first quick look it seems a bit TSCP-esque?

You're right. It looks very much like it. I don't know if he has the permission for that. Can sombebody look in the spanish explanation to the engine? If not, it is just another TSCP clone.

The webpage says the author has seen some code in order to understand how to make a program. He doesn't say anything about any specific engine- nothing about TSCP for instance.
The main features (many of them implemented only in a basic way) are:
* classic Alpha-beta with "quience search" and PVS.
* iterative search.
* Hash-table and pawn hash.
* Bitboards for use by the evaluation function.
* 50 moves rule.
* a basic opening book.
This is all what the webpage says. I'm sending mail in order to ask for more information.
