Final result was a draw, but it seems Fruit missed a win
in the rook endgame...

Qxc7 ??

Hi Günther,
i have had a look to the game Jonny-BB. The move 52. .. Qxc7 looks a bit strange, so i have just analyzed this position with BB, but BB wants to play here always Kh6. Ok the game was lost anyway at that time, but i want to know, what the reason for Qxc7 was.
Can you please send me the following files per email?
a) The logfile (from the subfolder "\log")
b) BlackBishop.ini
c) BlackBishop.cfg, if there is one
much thanks in advance

Hi Andreas, yes I can send them to you, but I can already tell you
that BB on my fast machine considered Kh6 only for more than 77 sec,
but then it changed to Qxc7 as Kh6 failed even lower than the Q sac
in that lost position. That happened in the 3rd PV line of ply 11.
Best wishes,

that would be nice.

Hmh, here BB doesn't change the first move until ply 12, then i have aborted the analyze. Perhaps i have to use the same settings, than you. So the above files would be very helpful for me, to find out what's going wrong there. Perhaps a bug??

First Qxc7 is not a "bad" move, as Kh6 is equally losing.
Second, because the hash table did not start empty at this move of the game, you cannot reproduce the exact same search, right?
Unless you don't use previous results at all, even for move ordering?
Fabien.

That was not the reason for asking for the logfiles.
I have just started chess programming before 7 years, so i'm a newbie in chess programming. Thanks for your hints.
Off course i know your above remarks. And be sure i have also analyzed it with starting a few moves earlier. But i can't reproduce the move Qxc7 with my settings. It needs 10 plys to see a value under -3 with Kh6. And if BB analyzes the position after Qxc7 it shows immediately a score under -4. So i thought, there could be a bug.
And the logfiles were important for me, to reproduce the search some moves before with the same hash, pawn hash values etc. and the same nodes searched in the previous searches. Then the hash tables should be filled similar, and i should get also a similar analyze than happens in the game. If not, it could be something wrong.
But i have got now the logfiles from Günther, and can reproduce the move Qxc7 now in ply 11.

best wishes
Andreas
