Hello Leo,

All I am going to say about your Premier and Second division is this:

AAAAAArrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!!
Phew, now I can start biting my nails again. I need to take my medication - I am definitely too tense.
:-)
It is definitely closer than a skin tight pair of jeans on an elephant.
Just think about it for a second...or two.

Or don't.

:-)

Later.

It's not over yet, but I think it's going to be tough for
Amateur, KnightDreamer, The Baron and Amy to grab a promotion spot.
They are so close and yet so far :)
Movei has some relative easy opponents and 4 more games to score points in.
Also some "easy" opponents remaining for Gothmog, so my guess is that the weakest of the top four right now, by a very slim margin, is Phalanx.
SlowChess looks set to win the group.

Leo,
Recemtly Shredder 7.04 was in a Test Tourney. But now I don't see any mention of Shredder 7.04 for edition 8. Is there any chance it will be in edition 8?

As others have said, there are really no easy opponents in 2nd div, relative or otherwise. I know you qualified your remarks, but still.
Every time I start thinking of Phalanx as a "has-been" engine, it jumps up and bites a few asses. I always thought of it being a better blitzer, but now the same old version 22 beats us up at long tc. Amateur cannot really compete at the div 1 level without a better eval, have to rewrite that someday.
Meanwhile, Slowchess still has to get through Amateur if it hopes to win this thing. We'll see.

Hi Will
Yeah you're right, it's not over till it's over :)
Realisticly I don't think Amateur or Amy have the best chances as they still
need to face SlowChess. Whether they can do enough damage to SlowChess to keep
it from first is anyones guess, but note that SlowChess is leading and that is
with still 12 games remaining!
The Baron and KnightDreamer probably have the "easiest" schedules and thus the
best chances, but trailing 2 points and just 8 games left they still
depend on lots of luck.
May the best engines win :)
