Who is guilty?
The following game is from my recent event.
[Event "New IL-6, 15m-qual 5"]
[Site "P3 1GHz 256MB"]
[Date "2004.06.02"]
[Round "1"]
[White "Tytan 3.62"]
[Black "Parrot 040501"]
[Result "0-1"]
[TimeControl "900+3"]
[PairNo ""]
1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 e6 5. e3 Nbd7 6. Bd3 dxc4 7. Bxc4 b5 8.
Bd3 Bb7 9. O-O b4 10. Ne4 Be7 11. Nxf6+ Nxf6 12. a3 bxa3 13. bxa3 O-O 14.
Rb1 Rb8 15. Qa4 a5 16. Bd2 c5 17. Bxa5 Qd5 18. Bb6 cxd4 19. Bxd4 Qd6 20.
Be5 Qxd3 21. Bxb8 Bxf3 22. gxf3 Bxa3 23. Rfd1 Qg6+ 24. Bg3 Bc5 25. Qc6 Ba3
26. Rb3 Be7 27. Rb7 Bd8 28. Qc5 Nd5 29. e4 Nf6 30. Rb8 h6 31. Rbxd8 Rxd8
32. Rxd8+ Kh7 33. Qf8 Qh5 34. e5 Nd5 35. Qh8+ Kg6 36. Rg8 Qxf3 37. Rxg7+
Kh5 38. h4 Qf5 39. Rg5+ Qxg5 40. hxg5 Kxg5 41. Qg7+ Kh5 42. f3 f5 43. exf6
Nxf6
{checkmate} 0-1
Who set this wrong result before black was mated?
After I fed the game to both engines it was concluded in two moves:
44. Qxf6 e5 45. Qf5#
{White mates} 1-0
regards,
Igor

Give Lgpgnver a try (http://www.geocities.com/lyapko/winboard.htm). It detects wrong claims automatically.
You need to maintain WinBoard log files though, otherwise there is no way of knowing which engine made the claim.

I find tytan's log file and it's clear from it that the result is sent by Parrot (=input).

I use this good tool but it cannot help in case ;-(
I whould be glad to keep them but Galis WBTM (which I use) cannot do it.
Fortunately, there is such a thing as an engine's log.
