Hey Heinz,
Your blitz Nunn-tournament is a roller coaster ride! I'm never sure where
my program will be in the standings for any individual position, near the
top or at the bottom- Wow!!
Truly though, your tournament is really useful for highlighting weaknesses
in the engine and I'm glad you're hosting it.

Hello Tom,
yes, this is typical for the Nunn position tournaments. I like tournament G a lot as there are a lot of engines improving rapidly. Most are very close together (with the exception of Ufim, that is obviously a candidate for top tournaments now)and some already have new and again improved versions.
There is another tournament in progress at position 3 now, called Elite 2, but I won´t post results here, as there are a lot of commercial versions included like Patriot and Ktulu, some are even non-Winboard engines. Those who are interested will find results on my homepage from Thursday onwards. Amateur engines involved are presumably improved Wild Cat 4.0, SmarThink 0.18a r165, Yace 0.99.87 and Gothmog 1.0b7 (all starting quite good in this strong field). Furthermore Little Goliath Revival, Delfi 4.5, List 5.12, Fruit 1.5 tralala and Tao 5.7b3. Maybe I will add Crafty 17.14. There seems to be an executable from Peter Skinner available.
I will set up another tournament either with middle class engines or with weaker ones.
Best Regards
Heinz

I only see Crafty 19.13 for download on Peter Skinners page at http://crafty.webkikr.com/download.html
Is Crafty 19.14 available elsewhere?

If you would like I can send you the 19.14 exe. Skinner's compile is made for and Intel machine and is always slower on my AMD system. As I now you use a AMD this would give you the fastest Crafty. I also use a little trick in that I do not include the EPD & DGT stuff and this normally give a 5% boost in speed on bench marks.
I use the free MS command line compiler with the following command;
cl /O2 /Ogxtb2 /G7 /arch:SSE /GL /DNT_i386 /DUSE_ASSEMBLY /DVC_INLINE_ASM /DFUTILITY crafty.c egtb.cpp
In the crafty.c I comment out the EPD and DGT includes. Below is the benchmark from 19.14 (without a .rc file and default memory settings) on a AMD XP 3000+ system.
Crafty v19.14
White(1): ben
Running benchmark. . .
......
Total nodes: 78164348
Raw nodes per second: 1302739
Total elapsed time: 60
SMP time-to-ply measurement: 10.666667

Hello Bryan,
that would be nice. I am also using Athlon XP 2600+ and 3000+ systems. Please use hvankempen@web.de. On my other account sometimes emails get lost. Thanks in advance for Crafty 19.14 exe.
Best Regards
