A proposal for Tom / TLCV

Currently, TLCV is a two part server and client. As it is written in Visual Basic, there is only a Windows client.
Have you considered making it broadcast to an ICS? This would mean there are many clients available. It should be possible to steal code from Xboard and from what you have to do this reasonably quickly. This has several advantages IMO: any OS with an ICS client can connect, plus viewers can chat & kibitz and copy the game to analyze variations etc.

Doesn't one need privileges to relay a game? This requires forcing moves for both sides.
I don't know, just asking.

It is probably sufficient to configure the client as an engine for xboard, which simplifies the ICS handling.
Commands to setup an examined game could be sent using the sayics winboard commands.

No, you can just examine a new game.

Do you mean one instance of Xboard/Winboard running with the match, and another instance of Xboard connected to ICS that is relaying?

Yes. So the connection to the ICS could even be on a different machine, or operated by a different person.

Probably superfluous, but:
The client capable of doing this still needs to be developed. It isn't something that the current client is capable of doing.
Just in case someone is looking for the magic configuration settings in the current client :-)
Richard.
