Hello,
I've pondering about the possibility of converting my website or at least the contents there at www.aarontay.per.sg/Winboard/ into a wiki. There is a computer chess section in the wikipedia site, but I don't think it's the right place to add all the stuff there.
A wiki will allow people who have an interest and frankly greater knowledge and expertise than me to immediately correct any errors they see in my site. Or add new sections they think are useful. Far more direct than the current system of emailing me and waiting for me to update it.
It seems fitting anyway, since most of what I learnt and put on the website comes from here anyway.
Also my interest in these areas have dwindled in recent years and I find it harder and harder to keep up with the latest developments. A wiki belonging to the community here might help solve keep the information there uptodate.
However I'm not very technical, and it's very non-trival for me to figure out how to implement a wiki, so I would be motivated to do so, only if there is enough interest.
So what do you think? Is it a good idea? I'm open to suggestions including moving it away from my site at www.aarontay.per.sg, to somewhere else. I'm really thinking of a community effort here, the site would be depersonalised of course, removing all references to myself.
Regards
Aaron
